Tuesday/Graduation

Tuesday, we got to just relax.  We had nothing planned for the morning.  I was able to sneak off while everyone was sleeping and explore Orange County while out on a run.  It was hot and humid, but enjoyable (until I stumbled upon the homeless population).  We then decided to check out the beach and get In-N-Out Burger (yum!).

Then later that day, the reason for the trip...Caleb graduated from High School!!!
We went to the graduation, which was held on the school's football stadium.  It was held at 5pm (probably the hottest part of the day and we got there 2 hours early for good seating), but in the end it was all worth watching him walk across the stage and get his diploma.

Congrats to Caleb!!!
Wednesday morning we picked up Kacey and Reyna (Caleb wanted to stay in California to work this summer prior to his mission, save money, hang with friends and work on his Eagle Scout project, and I think it also probably had to do with a certain girl that sat with us at graduation) and headed on our long journey home.  We stopped that night (after 10 hours of driving) and stayed in a hotel in fabulous Winnemucca, Nevada.  Then Thursday after 4 hours of driving we were home.  Glorious home!  I love vacations, but I love coming home!!!

Sea World

Monday took us to our next adventure...Sea World.

This was chase being afraid of the polar bear and the walrus.  We didn't stay too long, because this cute scene suddenly turned into screaming, crying and shaking.

We loved the shows with all the animals, and they had some amazing rides.  The weather was warm, but felt great.  By the end of the day we were all sun burnt and tired.  This was the second day in a row we opened and closed the park.  It was a lot of walking around, but thankfully very few lines for things.

Legoland, California

This past week, we took a 2100 mile road trip.  Friday morning, with our car all loaded up, off we went.  We got a little past Twin Falls, Idaho (so about 2 ours into our 10 hour drive) and after hearing a sound and Mark commenting "what was that", our flat tire light came on.  He pulled over and the noise of air escaping was VERY noticeable.  We jumped into the car and with fingers crossed hoped we could make it into town (14 miles away).  About a mile later, with a completely flat tire, we pulled onto the shoulder of a 2 lane highway as far as we could and Mark began changing the tire.  Eventually we put on the spare, got into town, got a new tire (they pulled out a huge bolt that lodged into our tire) and within an hour we were back on the road.  Made it to Las Vegas, Nevada by dinner time.  Next morning, we went for a quick 5 mile run, had yummy breakfast and headed out for another 5 hours in the car.  This time, destination...Legoland.  We spent a few hours there before it closed and then came back the next day from the time the park opened until  it closed.  It was fun!  Here are some pictures.
