Madeline has been participating in cheer leading this past sports season. She is definitely the loudest and most spirited on her team. She is always being asked to lead the cheers. Unfortunately it is not always easy to get pictures. She is the one in the green socks (it was crazy sock day).
Welcome to our world. At times it may run smoothly and other times...maybe not so much, but we are a family. Mark and I were married on May 17, 2008. Together we make up a family of 8...Caleb (20), Kacey (17), Cassandra (15), Madeline (12), Reyna (11)and Chase (5). Hopefully this blog will give you a closer look at our daily lives...

Its hard being a boy
When you grow up in a house with older girls, it is hard for them to not tease and do funny things. This is a picture of them making Chase into a girls. Once let out of the closet for the big reveal, he immediately took all the girls stuff off him. They are too funny when they are all together.
Madeline's birthday party
Madeline was so excited to hear Kacey, Caleb and Reyna would be in town the weekend before her birthday and requested a birthday party at the local roller skating rink so they would be able to be there. She invited a few friends and with her family of 8 we had a large party. It was a good time had by all. We skated, raced, played games, did the hokey pokey and everything else you can imagine that happens or happened when you were young at a roller skating rink. Even Chase raced around the rink with the 6 and under crowd. He came in 3rd. Quite amazing!
Here is here cake. You can't tell in the picture, but it is 3 tiers high.

The cut cake...it was polka dot.
Happy birthday, birthday girl
Cassie and Volleyball
Cassie decided to participate in church volleyball this year. It was fun to watch her with her talents. She did really well. She was able to hit, bump and even serve it overhand. Who does that their first year? I am hoping this becomes a talent she furthers because she did really well. Plus she is so tall that I think she was made for basketball and volleyball.
grandparents visit
The first of February, we were lucky to have grandparents come and stay for the weekend. This doesn't happen as much as we would like because we all live so far away, but the kids love it when grandmas and grandpas are around.
Chase, Madeline, Grandma Jensen, Grandpa Jensen, and Cassie all dressed and ready for church on Sunday.Grandpa and Grandma Jensen (Madeline was the photographer...shocker)
Chase enjoying play time with grandma and grandpa. He was sure to introduce them to his 'gang' of toys.
Grandma tickling Chase (who is very ticklish)
Chase loving on grandpa, who he dubbed his "best buddy" over the weekend.

Happy Birthday, Madeline
Madeline turned 10 years old yesterday. How does time go by so quickly? She was able to celebrate the big day with her favorite breakfast of a yogurt parfait and then off to school with 30 chocolate cakepops dipped in purple chocolate to represent her favorite color. Then we had a family dinner at her choice of restaurant (Chinese) and then presents.
